The Case Study

The case study was guided by the results of the Scoping Study and it was a section of the wider community heritage project CanalCraft.

The groups

The groups that participated in the case study were part of the localities in focus: a refugee and asylum seekers’ integration organisation and a women’s centre in Maryhill, and an LGBT+ youth group in Kirkintilloch. These groups’ community work also included campaigning and advocating for the rights of their members. Activism was a common thread between the FCCS and the community groups involved in the case study.
